Recent progress in rational protein design has given rise to the capability to develop proteins with precisely defined structures and functions. In this project, you will combine computational modelling using the ROSETTA molecular modelling software suite with laboratory techniques such as directed evolution and high-throughput screening approaches to rationally design immunogens capable of inducing bNAbs against one or more virusessuch as Coronaviruses, HCV and/or HIV. You will iteratively improve the immunogens based on feedback from in vitro experiments and assemble them into nanoparticles to improve immunogenicity. The most promising vaccine candidates will be tested in vivo, and results from immunization studies will be used to further refine the immunogens.
